Technology Roadmap: Envisioning the Scenarios for Metaverse Development.

Background

Alain Chesnais has worked in computer science since the early 80’s. His research has focused mostly on computer graphics and along the way he led the team at Alias/wavefront that received an Academy award in 2003 for the development of the Maya 3D system. 

 

Alain has been a very active volunteer at the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), the world's largest non-profit organization for the promotion of computer science research and education. Amongst many volunteer positions over more than 30 years , he was elected President of ACM SIGGRAPH, the ACM's Special Interest Group in Graphics in 2002, and then later was elected President of the whole organization in 2010. In 2016, he received the ACM SIGGRAPH Outstanding Service Award in recognition of all of the contributions he has made to the organization.
